Welcome to the Siuslaw Dunes! These beautiful and challenging point to point runs offer fun early season 50K, 20 mile and 12K races that traverse a wild tapestry of coastal terrain, including ancient open sand dunes with “tree islands”, old growth rainforest, stream fords and remote ocean beaches. The races are staged at historic Honeyman State Park, just south of old town Florence, Oregon, offering camping, lakeside charm and our gateway to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. There is no other running event like this anywhere— we are overjoyed to offer this truly special, one-of-a-kind race opportunity!

Welcome to The Big Alta! This event is the latest collaborative trail racing experience from Freetrail and Daybreak Racing, located in trail-famous Marin County, California! With every step, these thoughtfully crafted single-loop courses provide an unforgettably scenic trail race experience. On the home trails of Freetrail, The Big Alta offers two race distance options: a tough, inspiring 50K, along with a shorter yet equally exhilarating 28K.

Gorge Waterfalls provides one of the preeminent trail race experiences in the Pacific Northwest, home to some of the greatest trail running terrain in the entire United States.

Welcome to the Cape Mountain Trail Runs! These 50K, 25K and 10K loop courses soar high above the Pacific Ocean on one of the Oregon Coast’s defining headlands, Cape Mountain. Just 15 minutes north of Florence, the mountain’s hidden gem trail network offers miles and miles of exceptional singletrack through moss-draped old growth rainforest, enchanting creek canyons, and rare coastal headland meadows.

Welcome to Hood Hundred, a 100 mile mountain trail run on much of Mt. Hood’s most diverse and scenic terrain! Featuring an incredibly well-supported and very crew accessible lollipop-loop style course with 17,300’ of ascent and 17,300’ descent, Hood Hundred provides a truly epic mountain trail endurance challenge.

We are thrilled to host the Cloud Cap mountain runs on Mt. Hood’s wild and historic northern slopes! These “all-terrain” courses include mountain marathon and half marathon loop courses on trails and primitive forest roads through the Cloud Cap-Tilly Jane Historic District.
Staged at the charming and quaint Cooper Spur Ski Area, both courses showcases many of the mountain’s most iconic and historic sites. Exquisite views abound of the volcano’s ever-present summit, flanked by Cooper Spur and Polallie Canyon to the south, the Langille Crags and Eliot Canyon to the north and of course the massive icefalls of Mt. Hood’s largest glacier, the mighty Eliot, making this a truly awe-inspiring, one-of-a-kind mountain race experience!

Welcome to the Rogue Gorge, offering incredibly beautiful and challenging 50K, Half Marathon & 12K trail races and a NEW for 2025, a point-to-point, downriver 50 miler, all entirely along the iconic Upper Rogue Wild & Scenic River in the Southern Oregon Cascades! The Rogue Gorge Trail and Upper Rogue River Trail (a National Recreation Trail) provide miles of enchanting singletrack trails through the most vibrant fall foliage unmatched anywhere in Oregon, hugging tightly to the old growth forested bluffs above the famous river as it churns its way through collapsed lava tube chasms, cascading waterfalls and underground tunnels. We love hosting this event on the awe-inspiring Upper Rogue River!

Join us and Backcountry Rise presenting sponsor NIKE TRAIL for a shoe demo and Backcountry Rise course preview! Meet us at Coldwater Lake Picnic Area to try on some shoes for the group run. We’ll review our two route options then head out!
There will be two run distances:
Run Option 1: the classic 12 mile clockwise loop around Coldwater Lake (most of the Backcountry Rise Half Marathon).
Run Option 2: a 17.5ish mile loop around Coldwater Lake that does an out n back up toward Coldwater Peak (much of the B Rise 20 miler). This route option will turn around to complete the Coldwater Lake loop once they hit snow.

Join us and our sponsor CRAFT for a shoe demo and Wy’east Trailfest course preview with David Laney at Mt. Hood Meadows! Meet us in the big parking lot in front of the main ski lodge to try on some CRAFT shoes for the group run. We’ll review our route then head out! The distance and route will be TBD based on snowmelt and may likely be limited to the lower elevation trails, common for early July.
CRAFT shoe models available are the Nordlite Ultra and Craft Pro Endurance Trail.

We will be hosting a trail work day on the Backcountry Rise course right at the event venue! Volunteers are welcome to CAMP WITH US in the Field Camp at Mt. St. Helens Science & Learning Center on Saturday (June 25th) night before the work day. There is no fee to park or camp if you are volunteering Sunday!
Trail work activities will involve cutting overgrown brush and grasses away from the 3/4 mile long Elk Bench Trail, as well as raking the trail tread of forest debris, then hike out on the same trail.
For the work day, bring a sense of adventure, a lunch, water, as well as work gloves, eye protection, hardhat or bike helmet, long pants, long sleeve top and sturdy boots/shoes. Volunteers are welcome to bring their own loppers, pruning saw and other hand tools as well.
All trail work volunteers earn credits toward Daybreak race registration fees.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION: Run options include a lollipop loop 9 miler or shorter out n back options from where we’ll start at Tahkenitch Creek Trailhead. We’ll run along forested dirt singletrack trails, sandy trails, and of course some open sand dune sections. We will pause periodically at landmarks and trail junctions to allow for regrouping.
EQUIPMENT: Come prepared for any type of weather-- A running jacket, hat, gloves and hydration. Water will be available midway for fill ups.
LOCATION: Tahkenitch Creek Trailhead parking area.

Backcountry Rise is presented by Salomon! The event includes three different challenging and remote loop courses: a 50K, 20 miler and half marathon (13.1 miles). Each race offers big climbs, sweeping descents and stunning ridgeline views of the surrounding Cascade Volcanoes, high mountain lakes, rushing creeks and abundant wildlife, especially resident mountain goats, elk and many more.
Each race distance starts and finishes at the spectacular Mt. St. Helens Science & Learning Center, itself designed as the original volcano observatory. Perched on the slopes above Coldwater Lake and oriented toward the Mount St. Helens blast zone, the venue offers a family-friendly base camp location.
Welcome to the Wy'east Howl on Mt. Hood, presented by Salomon! The Howl offers wildly scenic and challenging 100K, 50K and half marathon trail running races on Wy'east (the native name for Mt. Hood) and its surrounding ridgelines, including the iconic Timberline Trail. As the only ultramarathons and half marathon held on the slopes of Mt. Hood proper, the event provides an up-close, unique and beautiful trail race experience.
Join us and Northwest Dirt Churners for a 14 mile loop run in the Tillamook State Forest using trails from the Tillamook Burn 50 mile and 50k courses. Open to all levels! There is a shortcut route that will shave off several miles if desired.

Welcome to the second annual TRAIL MIX - A Tillamook Forest Spring Clean-Up event inviting all trail users to come together for a fun day of trail work and stewardship in the Tillamook State Forest. Whether you’re a mountain biker, trail runner, hiker or equestrian, trail work veteran or first-timer, we welcome you!
TRAIL MIX is presented by Northwest Trail Alliance, Trailkeepers of Oregon, Daybreak Racing, Oregon Equestrian Trails (OET), Northwest Chapter (Hillsboro) and Oregon Timber Trail Alliance in a volunteer partnership with the Oregon Department of Forestry.
DATE: Saturday March 28, 2020
LOCATION: Gales Creek Campground on Hwy 6 (Wilson River Highway) near milepost 35.
TIME: Check-in opens at 9am. Safety meeting begins at 9:30am. Work from 10am-2pm.
SIGN-UP: You MUST fill out the sign-up form in the RSVP link prior to the work date. This is critical to our planning purposes.
WHAT TO BRING: Sturdy boots, work gloves, eye protection, long sleeved shirt, pants, rain gear if wet, hard hat or bike helmet (extra hard hats will be available if you don’t have one), drinking water and a lunch/snacks.
ALL TRAIL WORK TOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED, but if you have your own hoe, Pulaski, shovel, and/or McLeod, please feel free to bring and use them if you'd like to.
TIMELINE: We will break up into small groups, each led by an experienced crew leader who will guide their work throughout the day on their trail section. Cleanup efforts including raking, drainage clearing and fixing minor tread issues along the Gales Creek, Storey Burn, and the Historic Hiking Loop trails.
NEW TO TRAIL WORK? NWTA's Trail Sustainability Institute's Trail School will be leading a small crew that will teach basic trail maintenance skills during the event. This is a great opportunity to give back while simultaneously learning a new skill. If interested please see related question on the sign-up form to join the crew, space is limited.
AFTER-PARTY! We will offer a chili dinner and craft beverages at the end of the work day back at Gales Creek Campground, along with great raffle prizes to give away, donated by event sponsors! Camping and an opportunity for a ride/run/hike the following day (Sunday, March 29th) is being planned, but will be highly dependent upon weather conditions. Expect an update regarding this option as we get closer to the work date!
