Course Surfaces
Most of the course mileage is runnable. Trekking poles are allowed. The trails are all well maintained and generally not exceptionally steep or technical. The first 11 miles is almost exclusively singletrack trail, with some significant climbs and descents. There are many technical trail areas with shallow spruce tree roots and rocky sections to negotiate. Footbridges can be very slick — use caution on wood and smooth rock surfaces! The final ~2 miles is very flat and fast, as the course follows the Oregon Coast Trail after crossing Hwy 101 while skirting the coastal bluffs along the edge of Yachats to the finish.
